Patient Type Veterans with major depression or bipolar disorder who are referred for specialty team-based mental health care. Veterans in this clinic often have psychiatric (e.g., PTSD, anxiety disorders) and medical (e.g., chronic pain) comorbidities,.  
Our clinic services a diverse group of Veterans across age, gender, and ethnicities.   
Experience Type

Students have the opportunity to gain hours in almost every category required for internship, including: a) diagnostic assessment; b) individual therapy; c) group therapy; d) supervision and didactics. Students will learn to deliver evidence-based CBT/ACT/DBT interventions for bipolar disorder and unipolar depression. Students also can elect to co-lead a CBT for insomnia group and brief family psychoeducation. Opportunities to complete integrative reports are available. Students will gain experience in participating in a multidisciplinary training environment, which includes diverse clinicians and trainees and clinical and translational academic researchers.

Limiting Factors Team meetings and didactics are Monday 1:00-2:30 and are mandatory. Other hours are flexible, and we will work with students to develop an individualized plan to enable desired experiences 
Other Issues Students have one primary supervisor and will interact regularly with the other supervisor, interns, & psychiatry residents, and postdocs through group supervision, team meetings, and co-therapy.
