Research Description
My research interests center on the influence of substance use on adolescent and emerging adult neurodevelopment. My current work spans both cannabis-specific projects and the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) study. I aim to use improved objective measurement of complex behavioral characteristics, such as substance use and screen time. For instance, I use toxicological analysis and passive sensing in assessing behavioral and cognitive relationships. I am also interested in how unique patterns of substance use (e.g., co-use) may influence cognitive trajectories and the impact of secondhand cannabis exposure on cognitive, psychiatric, and health outcomes.
