Research Interests
1) Investigating the role of the locus coeruleus-noradrenergic system in cognitive decline during normal and atypical aging, and how this may be mediated through vascular coupling mechanisms. 2) Exploring the pathologic predilection for and propagation between the locus coeruleus, basal forebrain, and other isodendritic core nuclei, as well as the downstream consequences of resultant neuromodulatory signaling aberrations. 3) Understanding the spatiotemporal dynamics of amyloid and tau accumulation in the context of Alzheimer’s disease, and how these pathologies may act both independently and synergistically to promote neurodegeneration and cognitive decline.
