Research Interests

Dynamic interactions between mental and physical health markers (physiological and behavioral) and their relationship to eating and weight in overweight, chronic pain, and food allergy populations. Examining biomarkers (e.g., of stress reactivity, metabolic functioning, systemic inflammation, HPA axis function) to determine whether and how they predict outcomes and serve as mechanisms of change in weight loss trials, both for weight and non-weight-related outcomes. Developing acceptance-based interventions for medically-necessitated dietary restriction to promote dietary adherence and protect against disordered eating.
